Grief and the Holidays
December 18, 2018
Despite its joys, Christmas time and the holidays can evoke feelings of hurt and sadness for individuals experiencing difficult life situations. Losing a loved one, especially on Christmas and during the holidays, being dismissed from a job, dealing with financial struggles, experiencing a broken relationship, suffering from an illness, and loneliness, are all influences that can cause depression and sadness.
Realizing that Christmas and the holiday season are not always a joyful time for everyone, Abernethy Laurels will host “Grief and the Holidays” on Wednesday, December 19, 3:30 pm. The public is invited to attend. This will be a time to acknowledge the holiday season, while at the same time allowing guests to express their emotions, feel comforted, and fellowship with others who are going through the same life situations during the holiday season.
