Resident Poem: Alone
May 22, 2020
“Alone” by Anne Walling, Abernethy Laurels resident
One day: I’m Happy, Loveable, Christ-like, Church able, Many Friends
But 69 years: My husband passed away, Classmates passing fast, Family gone, Friends are few …
I find I am all alone
I want to be the best and keep in touch with family, and friends,
I’ve chosen my home to live at Abernethy … for they are my friend now …
By atmosphere, good food, room and assistant living
I’ve occupied myself with reading, doing puzzles, and bird watching, activities are coming back!
As well as my good friends after the Virus
I’m still alone, but working on being the best!
