Spacious Summer Living
July 29, 2016
A North Carolina summer is when daytime highs average 90 degrees and morning lows are rarely below 65 degrees, the smell of fresh cut grass fills the air, the sound of hamburgers and hot dogs sizzling on the grill puts a smile on your face, and the juice from watermelon trickles down your chin.
These warm summer days have given residents at Abernethy Laurels the perfect opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors. Our summer activities kicked off on Memorial Day when we held a patriotic golf car parade throughout our campus followed by a traditional cookout. In June, residents and guests were treated to a customary luau complete with a roasted pig, tiki torches, leis and a live steel drum player. Many residents have kept entertained with backyard BBQs, outdoor concerts, gardening, hiking on our nature trails, playing horseshoes with grandchildren, and participating in friendly games of bocce ball. While other residents like a more relaxed approach to their summer days, they have been unwinding with a good book under a shady tree, bird watching, brushing up on their photography skills, and playing card games with friends.
Abernethy Laurels is situated on 120 acres of generously landscaped grounds. Here, you will always find comfort in the outdoors and can enjoy the hobbies you love the most! Our residents are pleasantly surprised by the amount of privacy they have when moving to our community. You won’t find high-rise apartment buildings, traffic congestion, or hear the hustle and bustle from city living at Abernethy Laurels. You’ll find single level cottages, villas and apartments that are situated in a beautiful, spacious, and peaceful community.
