June 16, 2016

Abernethy Laurels employee Jeffery Scott was recently presented with LeadingAge North Carolina’s Service Excellence Award by Tom Akins, President of LeadinAge North Carolina. This award honors those in direct service, either as employees or volunteers, who demonstrate extraordinary talent, expertise, and dedication in provision of exceptional service to residents.

Akins shared part of Scott’s nomination that read, “Jeffery represents Abernethy Laurels and United Church Homes and Services to the fulfillment of their mission, always thoughtful, compassionate, and committed. His devotion shines through as he enriches the lives of everyone he comes in contact with.”

Additional award criteria includes: consistent excellence over time in provision of a service or set of services that impacts the daily quality of life of residents, a willingness to exceed the boundaries of an established role in order to deliver the exceptional rather than the expected and a personal commitment above and beyond that which is normally expected to enrich life for others.

“We are so proud of Jeffery’s accomplishments and commitment to our organization. He is very deserving of this honor,” stated Amber McIntosh, Executive Director at Abernethy Laurels.
