November 20, 2017

Abernethy Laurels, an active retirement community in Newton, is pleased to host Catawba Valley Community Chorus. The group will perform their holiday concert on the evening of Monday, December 11.

The Catawba Valley Community Chorus, comprised of volunteers, was established in 1987. Today, this 40 member group of talented singers performs at venues throughout Catawba County and continues to draw large audiences. The chorus is currently directed by Spence Robertson, choir director and organist of Zion Lutheran Church of Hickory, and accompanied by Tim Warren, organist at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Conover. Their holiday performance will include performances of: “O Little Town of Bethlehem,” “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree,” “The Coming of the Lord,” “Sleigh Ride,” and “Jesus What a Wonderful Child.”

The performance will be on Monday, December 11 at 7pm in the Community Center at  Abernethy Laurels. There is no cost to attend the concert; however, free-will donations will be accepted for Catawba Valley Community Chorus. To attend, call Rob at 828-465-8519.
