Abernethy Laurels Welcomes Catawba Valley Community Chorus

Abernethy Laurels, an active retirement community in Newton, is pleased to host the Catawba Valley Community Chorus. The group will perform their holiday concert on the evening of Monday, December 12.

The Catawba Valley Community Chorus, comprised of volunteers, was established in 1987. Today, this 40 member group of talented singers performs at venues throughout Catawba County and continues to draw large audiences. The chorus is currently directed by Spence Robertson and accompanied by Timothy Warren. Robertson is the director of music at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hickory and serves as adjunct instructor of music at Lenoir Rhyne University. Warren serves as organist at Mt Zion Lutheran church in Conover.

The holiday performance, which is free and open to the public, will be on Monday, December 12 at 7pm in the Community Center on the Abernethy Laurels campus.
