Alzheimer's Support Group Meeting at Abernethy Laurels

March 1, 2016

A monthly support group for friends and family of people with Alzheimer's disease and related dementias takes place at 12noon on the 3rd Monday of each month in the Community Center at Abernethy Laurels. The next meeting is scheduled for Monday, March 21.

There is no charge for the open and on-going group, with the purpose to provide emotional, educational and social support for caregivers through regular meetings. The support group, which is sponsored by the Alzheimer's Association, is being led by Director of Spiritual Life Rev. Dr. Susan Roddey and Director of Activities Amy Carter, both of Abernethy Laurels.

“Our goal is to provide caregivers with a consistent and caring place to learn, share and gain emotional support from others who are also on a unique journey of providing care to a person with memory loss,” stated Roddey.
