Avid Traveler to Present at Abernethy Laurels on Chernobyl Visit

Abernethy Laurels will welcome Hickory businessman Jeff Cline to their campus on Thursday, July 20 at 2pm to present on his visit to the country of Ukraine. His presentation will take place in the Community Center at Abernethy Laurels. The program is free and open to the public.
Cline, avid traveler and photographer, will discuss his journey into Chernobyl, Ukraine, the site of the world’s worst nuclear disaster, along with Mezhyhirya, a presidential mansion known as “monument to corruption” and conclude with this excursion 12 stores underground in a Soviet-era nuclear missile base.
Cline has visited nearly 120 countries and been to places such as Iceland, Timbuktu, Vietnam, and North Korea. A Hickory native, Cline is a graduate of Wake Forest University and has served as Agency Manager of BB&T Insurance Services in the Viewmont area for more than 30 years.
