Bells of Lake Norman to Ring at Abernethy Laurels

Abernethy Laurels, an active retirement community in Newton, is pleased to host Bells of Lake Norman for their only Catawba County performance this season. The group of musicians will perform their spring concert on the evening of Tuesday, May 8.

The Bells of Lake Norman was created in 2014 and has grown from a quartet to 12 ringers, totaling over 150 years of experience. The group uses an impressive selection of instruments, including 5 octaves of Schumerich handbells, 5 octaves of handchimes and 2 octaves of Silver Melody bells, in addition to various percussion instruments. Their spring concert series will feature tunes from the 1960’s and 70’s.
