New Spiritual Leader Welcomed at Abernethy Laurels

Abernethy Laurels welcomes the Rev. Susan Roddey to serve asDirector of Spiritual Life at the retirement community. The installationservice was held on January 18. The Rev. Roddey has been in the ordained ministry for 23years. She earned her undergraduate degree from Davidson College before attending Princeton Theological Seminary where she received her Master of Divinity. Roddey later attended Columbia Theological Seminary School, which is where she earned her Doctor of Ministry in pastoral counseling. She has dual standing as a minister with the Presbyterian Church (USA) and United Church of Christ (UCC) denominations. Roddey has served both in parish ministry and as a state certified pastoral counselor in counseling centers in the Charlotte area. Before coming to Abernethy Laurels, she was Associate Pastor at Holy Covenant United Church of Christ in Charlotte.
