Picasso Presentation to be Held at Abernethy Laurels

Abernethy Laurels, an active retirement community in Newton, will welcome Carl Shatley to their campus on Thursday, December 14 at 10am to present on notable artist Pablo Picasso.
Regarded as one of the most influential artists of the 20th century, Pablo Picasso was a Spanish painter, sculptor, printmaker, ceramicist, stage designer, poet and playwright who spent most of his adult life in France. Throughout his career, Picasso created nearly 20,000 pieces of art. Picasso’s ability to produce works in a range of styles made him well-respected in the industry.
Presenter Carl Shatley holds a Master of Arts degree from Duke University in History and a Bachelor of Arts in Art from Greensboro College. He has lectured at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, Greensboro College, Guilford Technical Community College, and Davidson County Community College.
